Our Volunteers

Every single member of the LACOVID Network, whether providing direct support to residents within the village or providing back-up support to enable the services to be provided, is giving their time for nothing. We ask all of our residents to recognise this and to understand that many of the people involved also have busy lives, for example as parents of young children, carers, and full-time workers.
Our community-facing street volunteers are the ones that you are most likely to encounter as they go about their errands within the community. In addition to the six core areas of support that the LACOVID Network will provide, these volunteers may also be seen helping with other tasks such as newspaper deliveries.
A friendly smile or a wave and words of encouragement will be very much appreciated if you see our volunteers out and about in their high-visibility jackets.
Your street volunteer is happy for you to phone them if there is anything that you are concerned about. They may not be able to help straight away, but we hope that they will be able to point you in the direction of someone that can help. The phone service is particularly aimed at those residents who do not have access to the internet and/or are living alone.
