Grocery Delivery Service

We provide a limited Grocery Delivery Service to households who are unable to leave home either because they are over 70 or in a group identified as vulnerable for health reasons and for those that are temporarily self-isolating because a household member has contracted the COVID-19 virus or is displaying potential symptoms.
If you cannot get what you need delivered by a supermarket or a local shop, we can arrange for a volunteer to get you some essentials. Call 01275 595580 and a volunteer will phone you back to get your shopping list. We cannot get high cost items such as cigarettes and alcohol. This is a voluntary service so we can only manage a small shop (about one basket).
Your list will be allocated to a groceries volunteer who will shop in Waitrose under an arrangement agreed with Nailsea Town Council. We’ll normally get your shopping done the next working day, as long as we’ve received your request before 2pm and we’ll inform you immediately of any complications or delays.
The volunteer will deliver the groceries to your door. You’ll get a receipt and details of how to reimburse us (by cheque or BACS transfer). We will need you to pay for your groceries as soon as possible so that we have money in the kitty for other deliveries.
We don’t charge anything for delivery, but an optional donation to support the running of the LACOVID Network can be made at the point of payment. Please do not offer our volunteers cash or give them a payment card. They will not accept them.
